Ingredients

  • 200 ml plain yoghurt
  • 80-100 ml water
  • a pinch koshier salt

Instructions

  • Place well-chilled yoghurt in a large bowl. Pour chilled water into the yoghurt and whisk them to a smooth consistency with a hand mixer or by hand.
  • Traditionally, the drink is served with a pinch of salt. Other possible flavourings are honey, mint or fresh dill. Add the flavourings to the diluted yoghurt and stir well to integrate the flavour.
  • Consume the drink straight after making it, or place it in the fridge to keep it chilled. Stir the yoghurt drink well before serving it. You can even add a couple of cubes of ice to your glass. Ayran tastes best when served cold.
