Total Time 10 minutes mins
- 200 ml plain yoghurt
- 80-100 ml water
- a pinch koshier salt
Place well-chilled yoghurt in a large bowl. Pour chilled water into the yoghurt and whisk them to a smooth consistency with a hand mixer or by hand.
Traditionally, the drink is served with a pinch of salt. Other possible flavourings are honey, mint or fresh dill. Add the flavourings to the diluted yoghurt and stir well to integrate the flavour.
Consume the drink straight after making it, or place it in the fridge to keep it chilled. Stir the yoghurt drink well before serving it. You can even add a couple of cubes of ice to your glass. Ayran tastes best when served cold.
